My Facebook profile is not showing up?

When I type in my facebook username into the address bar in IE (e.g. http://www.facebook.com/xxxxxx) it does no show up when I am logged out. I would like this to show up to not only my friends but friends of friends so they can preview my profile before they decide that they know me and friend me
